Welcome to our December Guest Designer - Danni Bindel

Good evening!

Hope you're all having a great Saturday night.  I'm popping in to share some news...

Today I am excited to welcome our Guest Designer for December, but first I'd like to say Mahalo again to our wonderful November Guest Designer, Linda Tan from Life of a Girlie Girl.  Thank you so much for all the lovely inspirations and adorable projects you created while you were with us.  Your weekly posts always brought a smile and inspiration to everyone and for that we are so thankful that you joined us.

Now I'm pretty sure a lot of you know our next Guest Designer.  She's an amazing crafter and coloring guru.  She has her own challenge blog and is just about the sweetest lady you'll ever meet.  Please join me in welcoming:

Danni Bindel from Danni's Dream.

Here's a little more about Danni in her own words:
My name is Danni and I am currently a SAHM to Matthew who is 12 and Annabelle who is 9. I'm married to Sam for 14 1/2 years and we just started our lives as civilians after Sam being in the army for 14 years.
I started scrapbooking about 16 years ago and found stamping about 8 years ago and as they say, the rest is history! Crafting is my passion and I just can't get enough of it.
I am also an animal lover and hope to work/volunteer at a zoo one day when I grow up!
~Smiles~
 Danni
Have a super sparkly day!
When in doubt--add pink, sparkle and a butterfly!
Housework won't kill you, but why take the chance?

Aren't her tag lines cute?  I had to leave them in. :)  Today Danni shared her news as well as this super fun card featuring Fumi with Messenger Bag on her blog.  Please be sure to stop by, become a fan and leave her some love.

Fumi with Messenger bag - Card created by Danni Bindel

Danni is so amazing with color combos and awesome layouts.  She also has an amazing eye for paper combos.  I am always in awe each time I go to her blog.  I can honestly say that in the past I have used some of her layouts whenever I was stuck on a project and needed some inspiration.  She's got plenty and we're soooo glad she'll be sharing it with us and you.

Stop by on Tuesday when she'll share her first official post with us and every Tuesday in December.

Come back tomorrow when Team Yumi shares the details of our December month long challenge and their inspirations.  It's bound to be picture perfect! ;)

Mahalo for stopping in!  Have a great Saturday night!

Leanne

So for my last post I decided to step outside the box and make a project.
Today I would like to share with you a ornament I made using Yeti Yumi

Be Merry~!

Morning Everyone!

It's Kathy from Team Fumi popping in today.  Did everyone get a head start on those Christmas cards and projects yet?! I sure haven't and barely getting started so if you are a procrastinator like me...Here is something to inspire you to kick off the fun holiday festivities. I made a wine tag using Yeti Fumi! It makes a nice touch if you plan to give it away or just as decor for home. I used a circle spellbinder to cut the ring on top as the punches won't reach that far in.  I also used a 5 petal flower punch to create a poinsettia and finished it off with gems and pearls. The sentiment is written with red pen and traced over with pink glitter gel pen. Hope this was fun for you and get your juices going for the Holiday Season!

Here is a closer glimpse at the hole I cut out to hang over the wine bottle. I punched out a scallop first on the DP and the glue it onto the white than blue base. I than took a circle spellbinder to cut in the center of the scallop shape.
XOXO,
Kathy

Christmas Decor!

A quick holiday project!

Today I'm going to show you how simple it is to create a fun little wall hanging using many supplies you already own.

The First thing I did was get down my box of Christmas craft supplies and pick out my Yumi & Fumi Stamps to use. I have many holiday things stashed away so what's pictured below may not end up on my project  The one thing I did purchase was a little Project Hanger by Cosmo Cricket.  It was inexpensive, I think we all like that!

Next I used some banner pieces that I had in my stash.  You can easily cut your own banners using heavy card stock, or even light cardboard.  Just so it's sturdy enough that they lay nice and flat.

I picked out some paper to cover them and added a sticker boarder on the top for added detail. I decided I needed some extra color so I cut additional rectangles of patterned paper to use behind the banners.

Next I got my images colored with Copic Markers and cut out. Aren't they cute!

Finally I assembled it.  I played around a little bit with the images and embellishments to find what worked the best.  Obviously I wanted the main focus on my colored images so I kept it very simple.

I'm showing a picture of it on white, and below on wood.  The picture was taken on an old chimeny cabinet I have in the house just to show that it displays nicely on a light or dark background!

The possibilities are really endless with this and I hope I've inspired you to give it a try.
Happy Crafting,

MelissaO

Helo!!! Joy!!! Joy!!!

Hi, this is Linda again sharing this week's Yumi and Fumi creation. I can't believe it is already November, and Thanksgiving is already next week!  Where did the year go???  The last couple of weeks the weather has been so nice here in California, and I have been absolutely enjoying it, but over the weekend it started to cool down... So I decided to put together a winter card.   So I decided to use a stamp from the Yumi and Fumi Winter 2012 collection - Winter Fumi.  If you haven't picked her up, you really need to add this lovely image to your collection, it is perfect image all winter long.
Hope you guys enjoyed the card, and you were inspired to ink up Winter Fumi.

Let's do some paper piecing

Heya! Are you familiar with paper piecing? I love it! In case you don't know how to do some paper piecing I have a short and (hopefully) easy to follow tutorial for you. I chose the sweet Fumi with gift image from the Yumi and Fumi Handmade store.

First stamp your image on a white cardstock and colour everything that you do not want to paper piece (e.g. face, hair). Then choose a patterned paper and stamp the image on that paper too. When you do all this, this is what you should end up with.

I decided that my Fumi will have a flowery dress, light blue belt and dark blue present.

Then you carefully cut out all the pieces for the paper piecing.

And now you start putting (glueing) all the pieces together. :)

And the result ...

I hope you will give this a try - especially if you haven't done it before.

Have a great day!
Hugs! xx

It's Breast Cancer Awareness month. As a nurse, I felt it was important to somehow depict the inspiration and strength I see in those who are sick and suffering. What better way to show gratefulness for life? I took Summer Chuckles head and put it on Yumi's body.

Winter Yumi is visiting Rome background stamps tutorial

Hi all, are you ready for a little tutorial??
Today I am showing you how to create a background using different stamps.
I have decided to make a postcard from Rome with Winter Yumi.
Love this cute girl stamp!! So suitable for many occassions.

As you might know I live close to Rome in Italy..
so I have stamped the Colosseo and a Vespa scooter.

step 1 stamp your main stamp onto a post it,
cut the image closely to the edges

step 2 position the mainstamp ( post it ) onto the paper ,
and stamp the the "background " stamps

step 3 take away the post it

step 4 stamp the image in the "empty" space

step 5 cut the paper into the shape you wish and colour the image

I hope you forgive me I have made a little mistake , I noticed too late,
I did not cut the space between the legs of Yumi...
so a little piece of the scooter is missing.
Sorry...I did not have time to make a new card.

Hope this will inspire you, have a nice day a lots of stamping fun,
please do not forget to join our colour challenge ..
( green, purple, orange, black )
You still have a day to join but remember only one entry per person.

PS I am always happy with your visit on my personal blog too..

Hugs Blankina
