Challenge #17~ALL ABOUT DAD!

Good morning to all you lovely folks! Those of us in the U.S. are having a 3 day weekend for Memorial Day. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have served and are still serving in our military! We appreciate the sacrifices you have made to help keep us safe and protect our country! Thank you for all that you do!

Today starts a new challenge! For the next two weeks, the theme is:
ALL ABOUT DAD!

With Father's Day right around the corner it's a great opportunity to get started on those Father's Day projects. Today Leanne and I are sharing our creations with you and the rest of the team will follow up with additional inspiration later in the week.

Here's a reminder about our rules...
The rules can be found in our Challenge info tab. Click here or click on the tab up top. Please make sure your card qualifies before you link up, otherwise we may have to remove your project.  The winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to our online store.  That's right, you get to choose what you want! And we can't leave out our top 3, who will receive a 10% discount to our online store.

We require an image for our challenges.  We are a stamp company after-all. :) If you use a Yumi & Fumi Handmade stamp on your project, you will be entered into the drawing twice. We realize some of you might not own one of our stamps so you may also use an image from Sister Stamp, La-La Land Crafts, The Greeting Farm or Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps. They won't count twice, but you'll qualify to be entered in the drawing. We hope you'll consider playing along.
Now on with our cards!

(how CUTE is Bob with his stache...LOVE it!!)

Now it's your turn! We're looking forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations over the next two weeks. Challenge #17-All About Dad ends Friday, June 7th at Noon, PST. Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a great Sunday!!

Hugs,
Rosie & Leanne

Add your direct link below.  We're excited to see your creation!

Sponsoring Card Makin' Mamas Challenge #70

Hey everyone!  This is the 2nd post of the day, please scroll down to see who our Featured Friday crafters are.

Today I'm excited to announce that we're sponsoring Challenge #70 at Card Makin' Mamas!  Woo Hoo!!  Wow, I can't wait til we get that far!  (hehe)
http://cardmakinmamas.blogspot.com/

When Jessica emailed us and asked if we'd like to be a sponsor we were happy to say yes!  I have to give a shout out to the gals at Designed to Color for referring her over to us.  Thanks ladies!!  Muah! ;)

It's a whole new experience for us and we hope that you will head on over there and play.  It's a bi-weekly challenge and the ladies over there are so sweet, nice and super talented!  The challenge theme over there is a pretty simple one, "Rubber."  Use a rubber stamp on your project.  If you're a fan of ours then you know that's all we carry in our shop so if you plan to link up over there the easiest and most practical way would be to use one of our stamps yea?  hahaha!!  Now I'm just tootin' our own horn, but it's the honest truth.  Just to let you know you are welcome to use any image for their challenges but how cool would it be if you used a Yumi & Fumi stamp?  No pressure!  (hehe)

The winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to our online store.  Please make sure you follow their rules so you don't miss out on the possible prize.  :)

Eva and I are playing a long with the ladies from CMM and here are our cards featuring Yumi with Book and Yumi & Fumi

Eva with Yumi with Book:

Stop by Eva's blog to see the details of her beautiful card as well as a fun surprise on the inside.  Love that cute apple charm!  Gorgeous job as always Eva!!

Here's my card:

Now how about some of the CMM ladies sharing some Yumi & Fumi love?...
Adina with Yumi:

Totally cute and fun yea?!  Yea!  Head on over to the CMM blog (click HERE) and check out the details.  Tell them we sent ya.

Thanks so much for stopping by again!  Have a great evening and as a reminder stop by tomorrow to see who our winner and top 3 are from challenge #16.

Hugs,
Leanne & Eva

Friday's Where's Yumi & Fumi Featured?

Morning everyone!!

Happy Aloha Friday and hopefully a great start to the long Memorial Day weekend.

I'm going to jump right in to share my picks for this week's Where's Yumi & Fumi Featured.  I'm taking them from our current challenge because there were so many cool ideas and we had some new faces.  It's always nice to give them a warm welcome especially when they create such amazing crafts with our images.

Here we go starting with this super cute "bookmark" created by alumnist Melissa O using Fumi with Messenger bag.  Love the colors and if you have to have a marker for your book, it should be something this cute!

Next up is this awesome tag created by one of the winner's from our Spread the Love event, Nicole Mullen.  She's sharing what she created with some of her prize package.  Featuring Fumi with Turtle... Wow, she really rocked this one out!!  This is awesome!!

Check this one out.  An altered clear frame with bright colors and a fun design.  Makes me think that summer is just around the corner and Yumi & Fumi are ready for it..  Well done Stephanie!!

Congratulations ladies!!  Please grab our badge below and we hope you display it on your blog.

Want to be featured on our blog and receive this adorable badge?  Join our challenges, post your cards and projects on your blogs, share on our Facebook page, and upload to Pinterest.  You can also leave a link in our comments section.  If you weren't featured today, no worries, there is plenty of time to be.  We'll be searching the web and maybe you'll be the next one on Friday's Where's Yumi & Fumi Featured.

Now, don't forget you have until noon pst today to link up your Anything But a Card project.  We've got some awesome projects linked up but we're ok with more.  :)  It's not going to be easy to pick.  So glad it's not me who has to do it.  (hehe) We'll announce our winner and top 3 from Challenge #16 tomorrow.  For now stop on over to those ladies blogs and leave them some love.

Before I sign off... Make sure to stop by later to see which blog challenge we are sponsoring.  We're super excited about it.  :)

Challenge #16 - ABC Last reminder

Hello everyone!

Hope you are all having a great start to your day.  To our Oklahoma "ohana" know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

Before I get to sharing today's projects I'd really like to share a reminder about our challenge rules.  We are not an Anything Goes challenge blog, we know that there are some that are out there, but we are not one of those.  We've had several entries that did not follow the rules this time around.  We would hope that if you are planning to join in any challenge that you would check to see if there are rules. Our rules are truly not that hard to follow unless you do not own any images from our list.  A few of those stamp companies do sell digital images that you can use to enter in to our challenges.  (For a full list of the rules please click HERE.)  We appreciate those of you who have submitted your projects but as gorgeous as they are if you have not followed our rules we will need to remove your entry from the list.  You are certainly more than welcome to resubmit another entry as long as it's within the timeframe and again follows our rules.  A huge MAHALO to our fans who do follow the rules.  (High 5!)

Our challenge info/rules are self explanatory but if you have any questions please feel free to email me at fumi(at)yumifumihandmade(dot)com.  Thank you! :)

Whew, now that that's out of the way let's get on to today's shares from myself and the talented Sandie Dunne.  :)

As you know Challenge #16 is Anything But a Card.  We've gotten some really AWEmazing entries and we hope that they keep coming in. Ya'll are super talented and I'm already making a list of projects for the future so keep them coming! :) I'll start off with my project.  It's another Easel 2-drawer box (can't get enough of these) and I did not use any designer paper! o.O! (lol)

I know some of you have requested a tutorial, I am in the process of making one (APOLOGIES) but if you can't wait check out Kathy's post.  Mine is slightly different, but the end result is the same. Look for mine soon.
Sandie's project:
Coming soon!

If you missed out on any of the previous posts by Rosie, Eva or Denice just scroll down.

If you haven't linked up you have time now!  This challenge ends tomorrow at noon, pst. The winner will receive a $15 gift certificate while the Top 3 will receive 10% to our online store.  Don't forget to follow us on Facebook or add your creations using a Yumi & Fumi image to Pinterest.  We'd love to see them.  Stop by tomorrow for our Friday Where's Yumi & Fumi Featured?  I've spotted a few that I'd like to highlight for ya.

Don't forget to submit your app for our DT Call.  We'd love any and all entries no matter if you've been on a team or not.  Click HERE to see all the details.

Have a great crafty day!

Hugs,
Leanne & Sandie

Challenge #16 - Anything But a Card Reminder

Today's post is a reminder about the current Anything But a Card (ABC) challenge that's going on right now and from the looks of the Featured Friday post from two days ago, it appears everyone is getting the hang of this challenge. Sadly, I noticed some are forgetting to enter their projects....you can't win if you don't enter and with a fabulous $15 gift certificate to the Y&FH store as the prize, it is definitely worth remembering!

You have until Friday, 5/24 at noon, pst to ENTER.
Rules and qualifying stamps can be found in the Challenge Info tab.

Eva and I have teamed up to showcase a few more ABC projects with the hopes that they inspire you to create and join us. With that being said, this coming week is the last week of school for Eva's son and she chose to make this thoughtful gift card holder for his teacher using Yumi w/ Bookbag. I think we all agree that Eva should be given an A+ for ADORABLE! You can check out all of the details on her BLOG.

At the end of July I am hosting a local scrapbook retreat and thought it would be fun to decorate each of the tables with a little "something," but with a total of 13 tables to decorate I started to think it might be wise to combine cute with cost effective.  I think this 5.5" x 5.5" rosette with Fumi w/ Turtle is going to be the perfect solution. You can read all the details on my BLOG.

(I can proudly say that not one Hershey's Kiss was harmed during the photography of this rosette!!)

 ***************************
There's more exciting news here at Y&FH! In case you haven't heard, we are in the midst of a DT call which runs until June 1st....all the info you need can be found in the DT Call tab above.  Good luck to all that apply!

Happy Sunday!

Y&FH Design Team Call

Hello!!

We're having a Design Team call and your invited to apply!!

Yumi & Fumi Handmade are three friends (Renate’, Leanne & Zach) who work demanding full time jobs. Our Yumi & Fumi work begins when we get home, sometimes late in to the evenings, and on the weekends. We are enthusiastic about our product and we are looking for individuals who will share our same enthusiasm and want to help us grow. We have a small, wonderfully talented design team and are seeking to add several more talented crafters/bloggers to our ohana. Having a supportive and enthusiastic team helps us through each day and reminds us that it's all worthwhile.

This DT call is open to everyone, everywhere and will close on June 1, 2013 11:59pm, PST, U.S.

The individuals selected will be notified via email and announced prior to their term.

To apply:
Email your responses to fumi(at)yumifumihandmade(dot)com and in the subject line please type DT Call:

*Your E-mail address
*Your Blog address
*A brief bio of yourself to include your creative interests
*Crafting specialties (don’t be shy about bragging, we’re definitely looking for a variety)
*Email three of your favorite creations that will tell us about your crafting style (cards, 3-D projects, altered items, scrapbooking layouts, mixed media, etc…)

The following are not mandatory to either own or be a part of, but more informative for our benefit:
*Design Teams: How many teams are you currently designing for?  Please list them (If you do not belong to any, no worries, it’s definitely not a requirement)
*Have you ever had any of your creations published? (If so, briefly list 2-3; again this is not a requirement)

The following questions relate to our brand:
*How did you hear about our company?
*Do you own any Y&FH stamps? If so, which ones? If not, what has stopped you from purchasing them?
*Have you participated in our challenges? If yes, what do you like most about them? If not, what stopped you from joining?

The following information is what is expected from a team member:

-Required to create new items for new releases
-Required to create, depending on the subject, 1 project for each challenge (Bi weekly challenges)

-To help us spread the word we will require you to share your projects, (in addition to your blog) on: Pinterest, Facebook, Split Coast Stampers and any other social media you think will garner a lot of interest
-All other DT details will be provided to you if chosen for the DT

We're almost done... Lastly,

Answer these 3 questions:
1.We’re a small company with a pretty good amount of exposure, how will you be able to help us get the word out to others that might not know about us?
2.Our challenges have not gained a large amount of participants, how would you help us get new individuals to participate and keep coming back?
3.Can you be an enthusiastic designer for Yumi & Fumi Handmade?  If so, how? For example:
   * Would you use a Yumi & Fumi Handmade image not only when required for challenge inspirations or following the calendar but for fun, possibly as a submission to being published?
   * We like to have special events, would you be enthusiastic about spreading the word about them and getting others to participate?

Alrighty!  If you’ve read through till now, awesome! We realize it’s a lot to demand, think about and consider, but we feel that it’s necessary for our brand and our fans. If this sounds like something you’d like to be a part of please submit your responses before June 1st to fumi(at)yumifumihandmade(dot)com and in the subject line add DT CALL.

Whether you are chosen or not we will notify you via email.

Thanks so much!

Challenge #16 - Anything But a Card

Good morning and a Happy Mother's Day to all!  We at Yumi and Fumi Handmade wish you all the best and hope you have a lovely day.

Today starts a new challenge for the next two weeks.  For this challenge we'd like you to create Anything But a Card!  That's right, you can submit anything except a card.  3-D projects, tags, altered crafts and bookmarks count, just remember if it's a card save it for the next challenge.  Today Rosie and I will share our creations with you to activate your creative juices.  For some of you it might not be necessary, but there are some of us who need a little inspiration.  :)

A reminder about our rules...
The rules can be found in our Challenge info tab.  Click here or click on the tab up top.  They are pretty straight forward and easy to follow, we'd really dislike to remove your link because you didn't follow the rules, so please before you link make sure it qualifies.  The winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to our online store.  That's right, you get to choose what you want!  Yay!  And we can't leave out our top 3, they will receive a 10% discount to our online store.

One of the fun parts is choosing an image.  We require an image for our challenges.  We are a stamp company afterall. :)  Use a Yumi & Fumi Handmade stamp in your project and you will be entered twice into the drawing.  We realize some of you might not own one of our stamps so we've got a list of some fantastic stamp companies that you can use.  If you have a Sister Stamp, La-La Land Crafts, The Greeting Farm or our newest addition, Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps, feel free to use them.  They won't count twice, but you'll qualify to be entered in the drawing.  Cool yea?!  We hope you'll consider playing along.  :)

Okie dokes is sharing time.  First up is Rosie with the cutest 4x4 pizza box I've seen in quite some time.  Peeking out  from the top of the box is AJ w/ Dragonfly.

Isn't it cute?!  To see how she put this one together hop on over to her blog post.  Oh I see some yummy Simple Stories papers and look at that bow!  How adorable is AJ?  And look how cool that dragonfly sparkles!  Way awesome!  Great job Rosie!!   Next up is me with a 2-drawer box with an easel flap.  Just in time for Mother's Day...

Leanne with Fumi with Gift:

I know you're probably saying Hey! That's a card!  Actually it's not, it's part of the design.  Without anything on top it would just be a plain ole' set of drawers.  :)

Now it's your turn!  We're looking forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations coming in for the next two weeks.  Challenge #16 - Anything But a Card ends next Friday, 5/24 at noon, pst

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  For all the mother's, mother figures, aunts, grandmothers, mother-in-laws, friends we wish you a day full of joy spent being treated like a queen!  Enjoy!!

Hugs,
Rosie & Leanne

Spread the Love Winners

Goooood Morning!!

We hope you all had a great weekend.  We were working hard on our next new release and look forward to sharing them with you soon! :)

Whew!!  Today we are excited to announce the Grand Prize winners from our Spread the Love with Yumi & Fumi Handmade event.  Before we share the news we'd first like to thank everyone that participated, shared and posted on their blogs, Facebook pages or by word.  We are so appreciative of all the feedback, love and support you all have shown us and we are excited to welcome our new fans to our ohana.  We learned a lot for our first time and look forward to future events like this one.  Thanks to you our event could not have been a success.  We really wished we could have given all the participants a prize but there can only be one winner per event/prize.

Now on to the winners...

The first event was our Facebook weekly Giveaways, here are the 4 winners:
Week #1 - Anita A.
Week #2 - Ruby T.
Week #3 - Heidi M.
Week #4 - Amy J.
Congratulations to all 4 winners!  They were already notified via email and if they have not received their prize yet they will shortly.

The 2nd event was the Scavenger Hunt.  We had a total of 5 contestants who participated in the first round so they became the only ones eligible for the contest.  They had to correctly answer all the questions messaged to them each week.  Each question was awarded 1 point if answered correctly, 0 points if not and we threw in a bonus question worth 5 points.  The maximum total points to be earned was 25.  After tabulating all the points we had a three-way tie who all scored 25!  We used random.org to pick the winner.
Congratulations to Nicole Mullen you are the winner of the Scavenger Hunt grand prize!!!
**Please email Leanne at Fumi(at)yumifumihandmade(dot)com with your mailing address so we can get your prize out to you.

The last event was our Anything Goes with Yumi & Fumi Handmade blog challenge.  We had 5 contestants submit some really cool, cute and pretty projects.  We had 3 cards, a bookmark and a shabby chic tag.  It was a really hard decision to pick one, but we did narrow it down to one.
Congratulations to Sheena B you are the winner of the Anything Goes with Yumi & Fumi Handmade blog challenge
**Please email Leanne at Fumi(at)yumifumihandmade(dot)com with your mailing address so we can get your prize out to you.

If you weren't a winner this time around don't worry.  We've still got our regularly scheduled bi-weekly blog challenge going on right now.  For all the details click HERE.  Up for grabs is a $15 gift certificate to our online store.  Good luck!!

On behalf of Renate', Zach, the team and myself,  "MAHALO!" or "THANK YOU!" for taking part in our Spread the Love with Yumi & Fumi Handmade event.  Again without your participation it would not have been as successful as it was.  Have a wonderful Monday and don't forget to share your Yumi & Fumi Handmade projects.

Hugs,
The Yumi & Fumi Team

Challenge #15 Reminder!

Hello everyone!!  Hope you are all having a wonderful Sunday!  I am just stopping by to remind you of our current Challenge #15 -- Shaped Card for Mother's Day.  We want to see a card that's shaped differently from what you would normally make and dedicate it to your mom or any mother figure in your life that you want to recognize.  Mother's Day is coming up fast so it's perfect timing!

Here is Denice's flower shaped card featuring Yumi with Birdie!  I love the colors here and the beautiful bow!  Check out her blog for more details!

Here is my card featuring Yeti Yumi.  Originally, Yeti Yumi is holding a string of Xmas lights but I added a whole bunch of flower shaped rhinestones to represent a lei or maybe a pretty necklace for mom.

The prize is a $15 gift certificate to Yumi & Fumi Handmade's store so you can pick which stamps you'd like!  I think that is a wonderful incentive to get crafting!  Be sure to check out our challenge rules HERE to refresh your memory.  Link up your creation on the original Challenge #15 post by Friday, May 10th, Noon PST.

We hope you'll all join us!  Good Luck!

Welcome Denice!!

Hello!!

Today we're happy to announce a new member to our Design Team.  As you know, our lovely friend and teammate Kim Yu has decided to step down from the team, so we needed to find someone that would be another wonderful fit to our team.  I'm happy to say we've found that someone.  You've seen her here before and we're all pretty excited that she's agreed to become a part of our team.  Please help us say a big Allooohaaa and Welcome to Denice Bartucci!!!

Here is a little bit more about Denice in her own words:
"I'm a midwestern gal who finds a lot of the inspiration for my projects come from my family, which consists of "Papa Bear" and our 4 fab kiddos....they are my never-ending source of support and my biggest/bestest critics. I've been stamping and scrapbooking for almost 15 years and am passionate about both crafts. I could talk endlessly about all the latest embellies and techniques, and find the internet to be an endless source of new projects to try. I'm looking forward to fun and creating with Y&FH!"

I asked Denice to take our survey and her answers were pretty unique. Needless to say, I think she fits right in with the rest of us. {hehe}
