Simply Amazing

My darling daughter started third grade yesterday, and I'm not even going to pretend I'm not emotional about it.  Our summer absolutely flew by - it felt like we were always going somewhere (because we were).  It was a big summer for my girl, too.  She mastered riding her bike with no training wheels, went to soccer camp, and discovered a deep love of Greek mythology. I'm so proud of all of these milestones, and I try not to get all weepy in front of her (but silently I'm freaking out that she'll turn eight in a month!).

When I sat down to make her a card for her lunch on her first day of school, I knew it had to be special.  In her school, third grade is when everything gets a bit different.  She changes classes, grades get tougher, and has standardized testing.  She's nervous. And I just want her to never, ever forget how truly amazing she is.

That's where this fun Yumi and Fumi Handmade stamp, Yumi w/ Bookbag, came in.  I stamped it on Ultra Smooth White card stock with an IMAGINE Crafts®/Tsukineko® Memento™ Dye Ink full-size inkpad in Tuxedo Black.  I colored it to coordinate with my patterned paper, using my Spectrum Noir pens:

Skirt/Shoes: PP3. PP5. DR5
Shirt/Socks: GB4, GB6, GB8
Bag: BG4, BG6, BG2
Skin: FS9, FS3, FS2, CR3
Eyes: GB8, EB3
Hair: DG3, CG2, CG1

I added a wonderful sentiment that tells her exactly what I want her to know, and a few bits of pink bling.  I'm a giant fan of the green hair - I'll be using this fun combo again soon!
