Challenge #16 - Anything But a Card

Good morning and a Happy Mother's Day to all!  We at Yumi and Fumi Handmade wish you all the best and hope you have a lovely day.

Today starts a new challenge for the next two weeks.  For this challenge we'd like you to create Anything But a Card!  That's right, you can submit anything except a card.  3-D projects, tags, altered crafts and bookmarks count, just remember if it's a card save it for the next challenge.  Today Rosie and I will share our creations with you to activate your creative juices.  For some of you it might not be necessary, but there are some of us who need a little inspiration.  :)

A reminder about our rules...
The rules can be found in our Challenge info tab.  Click here or click on the tab up top.  They are pretty straight forward and easy to follow, we'd really dislike to remove your link because you didn't follow the rules, so please before you link make sure it qualifies.  The winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to our online store.  That's right, you get to choose what you want!  Yay!  And we can't leave out our top 3, they will receive a 10% discount to our online store.

One of the fun parts is choosing an image.  We require an image for our challenges.  We are a stamp company afterall. :)  Use a Yumi & Fumi Handmade stamp in your project and you will be entered twice into the drawing.  We realize some of you might not own one of our stamps so we've got a list of some fantastic stamp companies that you can use.  If you have a Sister Stamp, La-La Land Crafts, The Greeting Farm or our newest addition, Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps, feel free to use them.  They won't count twice, but you'll qualify to be entered in the drawing.  Cool yea?!  We hope you'll consider playing along.  :)

Okie dokes is sharing time.  First up is Rosie with the cutest 4x4 pizza box I've seen in quite some time.  Peeking out  from the top of the box is AJ w/ Dragonfly.

Isn't it cute?!  To see how she put this one together hop on over to her blog post.  Oh I see some yummy Simple Stories papers and look at that bow!  How adorable is AJ?  And look how cool that dragonfly sparkles!  Way awesome!  Great job Rosie!!   Next up is me with a 2-drawer box with an easel flap.  Just in time for Mother's Day...

Leanne with Fumi with Gift:

I know you're probably saying Hey! That's a card!  Actually it's not, it's part of the design.  Without anything on top it would just be a plain ole' set of drawers.  :)

Now it's your turn!  We're looking forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations coming in for the next two weeks.  Challenge #16 - Anything But a Card ends next Friday, 5/24 at noon, pst

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  For all the mother's, mother figures, aunts, grandmothers, mother-in-laws, friends we wish you a day full of joy spent being treated like a queen!  Enjoy!!

Hugs,
Rosie & Leanne

Tent card with Fumi & AJ with Dragonfly

Hello!

Yesterday and the day before I shared these two fun and easy to make cards on my blog.  This particular card is called a "tent card" and if you want to learn how to make it click on this LINK and the fabulous Beate Johns on Split Coast Stampers will show you.  Love going to SCS to look up new ideas and there are a ton of awesome multiple fold cards there with tutorials. (Pretty awesome idea for our current challenge if you're stuck on what to make).

This first tent card features AJ with Dragonfly from the Peek-a-Boo series.  This card measures 4 x 3.5.  I used Spellbinders to cut a circular window and then created this outdoor scene using some fun Doodlebug papers and punches.

And here is a side view...

I know there isn't really any space to write anything... but wait!  There is!  The back side of the card...

I did the same thing with another tent card featuring Fumi but for this card I made it bigger and created a rectangular window.  Used punches to decorate the inside and outside...

Here is a side view...

And now the backside which already has a sentiment courtesy of AmyR...

The cool thing about these cards is that they fold flat to stick and mail in an envelope and when they are opened they stand up like a "tent".  :D

A few reminders...
  1. There is still time to join the current multiple folds challenge.  All entries will link up HERE.  This challenge ends on Friday, 4/26/13, at noon pst.

  3. Spread the Love blog challenge ends next Friday, 5/3/13.  To enter click HERE.  **Make sure to read the rules when you enter, we'd totally dislike to delete your entry for not following the rules. :(
I hope I inspired you with these fun and easy cards.  Stop back on Thursday to see what Sandie and I have up our sleeves when we share our Multiple fold cards for Challenge #14.  Have a terrific day!

xoxo,
Leanne

NEW RELEASE - Peek-a-Boo Series

{Sorry for the delay, technical difficulties, but all is good now! Sorry!}
Good morning and welcome to RELEASE day at Yumi & Fumi Handmade!!
Woo Hoo!!
We're so happy you could join us today.

Before we start the showcase, we'd like to say a huge Welcome & ALOOOHAAA to our friends Cliff & Cheryl of J's Knicknacks in Honolulu, HI.  J's is the first to carry our line of Yumi & Fumi Handmade stamps in their store and we're really happy and excited about it!!  If you live in the area please stop by and say Hello and pick up a few of our stamps.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to J's Knicknacks for being our first!!

Yes, that means we've gone wholesale!  If you'd like to see our stamps in your local craft store please ask them to send us an email at wholesale@yumifumihandmade.com

Today we’re excited to show you our newest stamps created with a little whimsy in mind.  When coming up with this new stamp line we wanted to do something a little different but still keep fun and cute in mind.  We came up with the idea of our characters peeking around a corner, laying in the grass, and maybe even peeking over something.  Then we thought it would be even cuter to add in our own little critter friends to go along with us.  That is how the Peek-a-Boo series was born.

These stamps are the same quality as our other stamps and all made in the USA.  Made of deeply etched red rubber on cling mount they are also scroll cut and indexed for easy stamping.  The only difference is they are smaller than our normal sized images, but that doesn't detract from their cuteness.

Each stamp retails for $7.50, but for a limited time you can purchase a bundle pack of all 4 stamps for the low price of $25 until Monday, April 8th at 5pm pst.  Look for the specific bundle picture in the store(This offer only applies in the Yumi & Fumi Handmade store

Now let's get on with the showcase.  Each image will first be introduced with our awesome packaging (created by Renate' with colored images by Eva & Renate') followed by a sample from our DT.  Click on each designer's name to go directly to their blog for details on their projects.

Time to welcome our Peek-a-Boo friends into the ohana…

We'd love to know what you think.
Leave us a comment and then head on over to each of the designer's blog and leave them a comment.  I'm positive they would love to hear what you thought.  Who knows you might see more fun samples on their blogs.

Be back tomorrow when Eva and Kim will share their Challenge #13 reminders, I believe there just might be a tutorial thrown in.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Hugs,
